Beijing Update

It is 2:15AM right now, suffering from minor jetlag. I spent a lot of time sleeping, and sleeping, and more sleeping for the last 48 hours, in fact I am actually getting quite good at it.

Since I have nothing better to do this early in the morning (besides reading ahead for my class), I will recap on my first encounter of Beijing.

To be completely honest, I was really nervous before my trip. It was the kind of nervousness that I haven't experienced since 5th grade when my mom dropped me off at Mrs. Gindy's summer school class in the U.S. I actually don't really know why I was nervous, but this feeling quickly faded away when I arrived as I was occupied by all the pressing questions in my head, such as Where the heck am I going, what on earth does that say, etc.

I was able to get on a taxi with a very nice Beijing-native driver; Beijing looked very foggy, but very quickly you'll realize that it is not fog, it is smog. Smog that covers the entire city where you cannot see more than couple blocks ahead. Beijing looked very much like Taipei, the billboards, the streets, the stores, the cars, and even the humidity, but minus the bikers, and the smog. Nevertheless I really enjoy what I see so far.

There's a thunderstorm outside, I think I should go back to sleep now.
